Insect and Spider Portraits
I am fascinated by the beauty of the natural world that is beyond what we can see with our own eyes. Extreme macro with analog processes is limited by the narrow depth of field of a single image at 1:1 and higher magnification (typically less than 0.5 mm). Digital methods enable stacking of multiple images with the focal plane moved incrementally through the region where sharp focus is desired. These images were obtained by focus stacking with a Canon MP-E 65mm lens, macro rail, and Zerene Stacker.
